Dr. Svatoš became a member of AMATI

Dr. Martin Svatoš, Ph.D. became a first Czech member of AMATI (Association of Mediation Assessors, Trainers and Instructors), newly established organization that associates the leading professionals in the field of mediation training.

AMATI is based in London, UK and among its members belong among others T. Garby (France), G. de Berti (Italy), Ch. Irvine (UK)… Admission to membership is by invitation.

AMATI is an active network of experienced professionals looking to benchmark best practice and share knowledge through member forums and conferences. It offers expertise and perspectives on key issues within the sector, underpinned by international practitioner contacts and academic research, networking, events and training.

AMATI members are updated with the latest sector news and have access to exclusive resources, and special interest groups on development and regulation.

Martin is one of the leading Czech mediators and arbitrators. He has acted in more than 200 both international and domestic cases in mediation (listed by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic and by the Energy Community). His experiences in alternative dispute resolution were appreciated when he became the President of the Working group of the ICC Czech Republic for mediation. Martin has acted in several arbitrations both as chairman, member of the tribunal and of counsel (listed as arbitrator by the VIAC, Arbitration Court of the Czech Football Association, Czech Arbitration Court and Czech Commodity Exchange Arbitration Court). Martin lectures at the Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and at the Seminar of European and Comparative Law in Urbino (Italy). He has been visiting professor at the University of the French West Indies in Guadeloupe. He also gave a course at the Faculté Libre de Droit Institut Catholique de Toulouse, at the Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), at the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (both PRC), Georgetown University (USA) and many others. In 2016, he acted as a member of the Czech delegation to the UNCITRAL WG II. He publishes and gives speeches at international conferences on regular basis. He is one of the co-editors of the EU Mediation Handbook (Kluwer International, 2017). As a speaker, he attended many international conferences all around the globe (the UIA World Forum of Mediation Centres, the IBA Annual Conference, the German Arbitration Institute Annual Conference, the Conference of the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland (Dublin) and YIAG conferences (Istanbul, Warsaw)...
