The ICC Mediation Competition, the world’s largest moot exclusively devoted to international commercial mediation, took place in the first week of February 2018. It gathered over 350 students and coaches, in addition to 130 professional mediators and mediators trainers from all over the world. Martin Svatos, Ph.D. has been repeatedly invited to act as a mediator and judge in this perstigious event.
During the Competition, student teams representing 66 universities endeavour to resolve international business disputes through mediation, guided by professional mediators pursuant to the ICC Mediation Rules. Their performance is evaluated by some of the world’s leading dispute resolution specialists who participate in the Competition as judges.
The outcomes of the 2018 Edition are as follows:
Winner: University of New South Wales (Australia)
2nd place: Saint Joseph University of Beirut (Lebanon)
3rd place: Mitchell Hamline School of Law (United States)
