On 9th April 2014, the students’ negotiation training was held in the Prague premises of multinational professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Students of the International Commercial Dispute Resolution Curriculum (IES FSS Charles University in Prague) had the opportunity to pit their wits against the multi-party investment treaty negotiation concerning the construction of a port. Among others, there were an investor, unions, environmentalists and local government involved.
This curriculum is lectured in English at the Institute of Economic Studies of the Faculty of Social Science of the Charles University in Prague and its students come from all over Europe (Czech Republic, France, Rumania, Albania,…). Dr. Svatoš is in charge of the lectures concerning mediation and negotiations and thus, he supervised the negotiation training together with Mr. Tomáš Hülle.
Apart from the regular students, the students at the Shantou University (PRC) attended the afternoon having been the active observers of the negotiation game.
