Dr. Martin Svatos, Ph.D.
Martin is one of the leading Czech mediators and arbitrators who is fluent in Czech, English, French and German. He has acted in more than 100 both international and domestic cases in mediation (more than 500 mediated hours). He focuses mainly on IT aw, energy law and construction disputes. With the success rate more than 85% of the cases, he belongs to the most successful mediators in the Central Europe. His experiences in alternative dispute resolution were appreciated when he became the Secretary to the Working group of the ICC Czech Republic for mediation.
Martin has acted in sveral ad hoc arbitration and, since 2015, he is listed as arbitrator by the VIAC.
Martin lectures at the Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and at the Seminar of European and Comparative Law in Urbino (Italy) where he is in charge of the negotiation, mediation and arbitration courses. He has been visiting professor at the University of the French West Indies in Guadeloupe. He also gave a course at the Faculté Libre de Droit Institut Catholique de Toulouse, at the Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), at the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (both PRC).
He has been a speaker at numerous international conferences such as the UIA World Forum of Mediation Centres (Prague, Thessaloniki), the Conference of the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland (Dublin) and YIAG conferences (Istanbul, Warsaw)
